  • The Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House is a government building, museum, and former custom house at 1 Bowling Green, near the southern end of Manhattan in New York City. 
  • All visitors are required to go through security screening including a metal detector and possible bag check upon entry. Visitors must show a Photo ID when entering the building.  Please contact us prior to your visit if you have any questions about the security procedures.

Subway

There are entrances to two New York City Subway stations immediately outside the Custom House. An entrance to the Whitehall Street station (R train) is adjacent to the eastern side of the building, while an entrance to the Bowling Green station (4 & 5 train) is to the north. Other options: 

  • 1 train to Rector Street
  • J & Z trains to Broad Street
  • 2 & 3 trains to Wall Street
