General Information

Welcome to GEOHealth's 2024 Network Meeting!

This network meeting is for current grantees of the Fogarty International Center's Global Environmental and Occupational Health (GEOHealth) program, which supports research and research training in environmental and occupational health challenges in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). The program is led by the Fogarty International Center in partnership with the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), the National Institute on Aging (NIA), and the NIH Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH).

The 2024 annual network meeting on June 6-7 will be held fully in-person (see logistics for details). Principal Investigators (PIs) of all GEOHealth hubs are expected to attend the in-person meeting. Collaborators and trainees are also encouraged to attend.

* If you need a letter of invitation to attend the meeting, please email austin.downs@nih.gov with your full name, contact information, grant number and grant title. *

Prior to the in-person network meeting, there will be a virtual component on Wednesday, May 29th focused on sharing research advances and progress updates. The May 29th meeting is an opportunity for trainees and collaborators to present their research progress (or research plans). Multiple trainees and collaborators from each hub should propose presentations at the virtual meeting. There will be separate registration for the virtual meeting. Registration via this registration page is only for in-person attendees at the June 6-7 in-person network meeting.

In-person meeting presentations are meant to be cross-cutting and conversation-spurring. As such, presentation content should highlight your GEOHealth research and training on a more general level but include more open-ended elements to drive potential collaborative opportunities and critical thinking around challenges and opportunities in the field of global environmental and occupational health. The in-person meeting will provide a forum to 1) share research findings, 2) engage in thoughtful discussions about current work and opportunities for collaboration, 3) engage with NIH staff across several ICOs, 4) learn more about NIH administrative processes.
